Stenography and pop music
May. 13th, 2008 08:22 pmOf late, I had abandoned my hopes of training as a stenographer, as the WordWave course shut down, leaving no other training school in London. However, yesterday one of my colleagues, a stenographer who produces subtitles for TV, offered to run a crash course for me. I am still considering whether to do it or not.
( Stenography agonising )
Anyway, never mind that! let's talk about pop music :D On Friday night we had a gig at Metro, quite a good venue in central London at which some big names like Robyn have played. I didn't think we fitted in with the rest of the line-up, who were both indie bands. But a lot of my mates came and the show went OK, except for when Alex kicked my lead out with his vigorous move-busting. My friend Max was especially enthusiastic and said I channelled early David Bowie remarkably well during the performance, with my quiff, unconscious eyebrow-arching and cheap Barry M glitter.
Last week we had photos done in my flat and the surrounding area. There are a few under the cut, mostly for the benefit of family members who haven't already seen them. They are the subject of ongoing bickering about whether Alex photoshopped them enough and who doesn't like themselves in which photo, but the ones below are quite nice.
