1.] What did you do in 2006 that you have never done before?
Mm, nothing really.
[2.] Did you keep all of last years resolutions?
My only resolution was not to get so upset about minor things, and I didn't keep it.
[3.] Have you any resolutions for next year?
I might have another bash at the above one.
[4.] What countries did you visit?
None.
[5.] What would you like to have in 2007 that you didn't have in 2006?
A spangly musical career, stop sniggering at the back!
[6.] What date in 2006 will remain etched in your memory?
None.
[7.] What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Wringing my hard-earned deposit money out of two ex-landlords, who were both obstructive in different ways. The first one, from my old flat in Peckham, didn't mean to rip me off but just couldn't get his act together to send it. In the end I had to go to his hardware shop in Peckham and be given £725 in used notes. The second one, from Lorraine Mansions, invented lots of ridiculous claims to try and keep all the money. But he failed.
[8.] What was your biggest failure?
I haven't found a better job yet.
[9.] Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Just colds. Bad enough to keep me from work though. I don't believe in soldiering on like the man in the Lemsip advert.
[10.] What was the best thing you bought?
A golden manekineko (Japanese lucky cat) with batteries that make its raised paw swing back and forth.
[11.] Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My ex-flatmate for moving her boyfriend in without telling me, and Ken Livingstone for his many offensive acts as Mayor of London.
[12.] Where did most of your money go?
Rent, transport and cola.
[13.] What did you get really really really excited about?
Getting Freeview and finding out it had loads of 80s music videos that I'd never seen. Well, quite excited.
[14.] What songs will always remind you of 2006?
I don't know, but I think I'll prefer to forget about 2006 anyway, once it's over.
[15.] Compared to this time last year are you :
[A] Fatter or thinner? Slightly thinner I think.
[B] Happier or sadder? Sadder.
[C] Richer or poorer? Poorer cos I just bought a flat!
[16.] What do you wish you'd done more of?
Song-writing.
[17.] What do you wish you'd done less of?
Subtitling Deal Or No Deal and Hollyoaks. Work in general in fact.
[18.] How will you be spending Christmas?
At Lyle Towers with Mrs Lyle,
joysilence and
spam_robot77. I've ordered a hamper!
[19.] Which LJ users did you meet for the first time?
pulse_fairy, at Club Bohemia.
[20.] Did you fall in love in 2006?
Yesh.
[21.] How many one night stands?
None.
[22] What was your favourite TV show?
I like Blunder, the new sketch and stand-up show with the bloke who plays Mark in Peep Show.
[23.] Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
[24.] What was/were the best books you read?
In the Miso Soup.
[25.] What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lots of italo-disco I'd previously been only dimly aware of.
[26.] What did you want and get?
A big telly with Freeview! And a place in a band.
[27.] What did you want and not get?
A better job.
[28.] What was your favourite film this year?
In the cinemas, Pulse, a sci-fi horror, was pretty good. I saw Gothika on TV and thought that was great.
[29.] What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I bought a battery-operated golden cat, ate a hedgehog-shaped cake and later attempted to go to a club, but we couldn't get in as it was already full by the time we arrived. I was 26.
[30.] What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
A nice, stable home and a better job.
[31.] How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Dressed to repress!
[32.] What kept you sane?
My mother and sister and my lovely pet ponce, as well as listening to good electronic music and playing Neopets.
[33.] Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
Celebrity Ham, the louche-looking tinned meat with the defiantly 70s packaging. Way to dodge the question, Sam Tom!
[34.] Which political issue stirred you the most?
Ken Livingstone's continuing political career is an aberration, with his impractical and dangerous bendy buses and posters telling people not to flush the toilet if they've "only" passed water.
[35.] Who did you miss?
My mother.
[36.] Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
Don't think you really know someone just cos you've socialised together a bit. And always challenge your ex-landlord's claims to keeping your deposit.
[37.] Quote a song lyric that sums up your year...
"I wonder if I'll ever get to where I want to be/Better believe it, I'm working for the cash machine."
