I have arrived at Lyle Towers in Exeter for a holiday and will be staying here till Monday 16th. I always like coming here - I can't be bothered with the stress of a "proper" holiday and I love seeing Mrs Lyle and my cat Savage Gordon. I have eaten a tasty shepherd's pie made by the former and given the latter a big cuddle - Gordon is especially fluffy now that winter is on its way. I have yet to meet the feline interlopers Rasputina and Piekins, who keep trying to get into the house and eat Gordon's food.
I looked at a website about chinchillas today and I think it would be quite a nice pet to have once I've moved into the Dongola Road residence. Apparently they don't need a garden - in fact it is recommended that you keep their cage indoors and let them out to scamper around the house every day. When I was about 18 I developed a strong desire to keep chinchillas as a result of watching Pet Rescue intensively (I was on the dole and living in Tiverton, Devon at the time). Unfortunately I wasn't able to afford them then, but now I'm a salaried media ponce, I can give in to my whims for exotic beasts. A particularly nice feature of the website is that you can listen to sound files of their different noises. I like "eating a grape" and "chattering". And did you know, the chinchilla is scientifically the fluffiest animal in the world, as its coat has the highest density of hairs per centimetre of any animal!
