Dec. 28th, 2006 05:11 pmI got back to London from Devon today. Mrs Lyle kindly drove Sarah and me as we couldn't face the cattle truck conditions that prevailed this time last year. (I had to stand all the way to Reading!)
I had a good holiday and a very nice Christmas. I ate and slept a lot. I would have liked to stay longer, as usual. As Mrs Lyle had to work on Christmas Day, we had our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve - roast beef and potatoes, parsnips etc (we don't eat turkey as they are too cute, with their lovely wattles and colourful plumage). I'm afraid I ate too much and was ill that night.
I felt better by Christmas Day, when we opened all our presents. There were too many delightful items to list them all here, but highlights include an Oriental-style silk cummerbund, a pink cravat with white spots, a rubber death puffer fish (for bathtime amusement), a DVD player and a cushion and draught excluder decorated with cats.
On Boxing Day,
true_loo came for drinks and constructed an amazing hairstyle for me using only a comb and cheap hairspray. It reminded me a bit of Margaret in Liquid Sky. I might put some pics of it up on MySpace.
I don't know exactly what I'm doing for New Year's yet. However, our friend Dan has kindly bought us tickets for the Electrogogo vs Bohemia thing at the Scala. Maybe see some of you there.
