Jul. 19th, 2006 03:36 pmYesterday I went to Thorpe Park with
dream_electric,
spam_robot77 and Wiggy, who very kindly drove us there in his Beetle.
At first it was rather hot and crowded, and the queues were very long - up to 80 minutes on some rides! So Wiggy, Sarah and I mostly sat eating sandwiches and complaining about the general public while Tracy queued up for the extreme rollercoaster Stealth. Later on, however, things improved as the park started to empty out and the weather cooled off a bit.
We went on a very good log flume, where I sadly lost my sunglasses - they were torn from my face by the force of the wave! I was relieved to get soaked as I was so hot.
I also went on Detonator, a ride that goes up a big pole and then plummets down very fast, more thrilling than it looks. I also went on two rollercoasters, Nemesis and X:\No way out.
Thorpe Park really need to sort out a decent queueing system though, maybe like at Alton Towers where, as I understand, you choose a ride you want to go on, and they give you a ticket and a time to come back to go on the ride.
