I bought it!
Jan. 6th, 2007 01:59 pmI got the keys to my new flat on Thursday. Sarah and I wandered around expressing delight at not-strictly-necessary but pleasing features such as the little lights in the glass-fronted kitchen cupboards, the bling light fittings and the ten electrical sockets (gold-plated of course) in the sitting room. It’s all quite Alexis Carrington. I don’t plan on redecorating any time soon. I’m not into Destroy-It-Yourself anyway. Sarah and I went round and measured the rooms and doorways for the furniture I will have to buy soon.

spam_robot77, if she happens to be online today, but I have seen some very nice sofas on the Sofa Bed Warehouse site. I like the Roma best as it is contemporary yet comfy-looking. The more classical Dewsbury is nice, too. The fabric selection is great – I’ve ordered swatches - and they take 3-4 weeks to deliver, not too bad compared to DFS. What do you think?
On Friday I said goodbye to Sarah, who has gone to Italy to see her family, returning next Saturday. I was meant to go to DFS but I couldn’t face the public transport nightmare. The bus takes 42 minutes to get to Brent Cross from Wood Green, despite the journey only being 5 miles long. How do they do that? Surely no-one will ever be persuaded out of their cars if Transport for London can't do better than this. I considered getting a taxi but then I thought I’d just save time and buy online instead. I spent the rest of the day getting a new look for my MySpace and recording some synth parts for the band.
