Sofa, so good! *cringe*
Jan. 12th, 2007 11:19 pmI've bought a nice sofa at last. There's a picture of it behind the cut.
( I am ze king of ze divan )
It's very nice in real life, dark brown velvet, or "chocolate" as they call it. It's extremely comfy (I tried it out in Sofa.com's office/showroom in the business park on Chelsea Wharf) as it is filled partly with duck feathers. I like it as it is a bit classic, a bit modern. It should arrive in 4-5 weeks. I tried to buy a cheaper sofa from a high street shop but they all had delivery times of ten weeks! I can't wait that long. But a good sofa is a good friend, and well worth the investment I believe.
I've had my hair done (again!) by my bandmate Alex, who's a hairdresser by day. It's plum-coloured now, with a bleach blonde undercut and an asymmetric back. I'm really pleased and I didn't have to pay him a penny!

I decided to walk back from the sofa shop along the Chelsea Embankment. The weather was showery but quite mild, and the place was devoid of pedestrians as far as the eye could see. I was impressed by the delightful pastel shades of the ornate Albert Bridge, rising against the delicately coloured sky, and I liked the benches adorned with black iron harpy/sphinx type creatures.
