In the course of our house search, Sarah and I have seen some incredibly owly properties on t'internet and in real life. Certain houses aren't very nicely decorated or well situated, that is a given, but what has really surprised me is quite how unflatteringly some of them are depicted by the estate agents who are actually meant to be selling them.
This and this are the most striking examples. The houses have the potential to be OK, but why would you pile up rubbish onto the bed before taking a photo of the bedroom?
The garden photos in both cases were so owly they were actually quite good, in a Cabaret Voltaire album cover sort of way. I was moved to create some imaginary album covers for an electronic act of my own fancy. Done in owly MS Paint, obviously. No Photoshop required.
( I've seen the future, and it looks like Enfield )
