In which Sam Tom is 2fancy4u!
Feb. 19th, 2009 05:13 pmI had quite a nice birthday yesterday. I think the highlight was the giant Mr Kipling's fancy cake that Tea Hen managed to procure. We will probably still be eating it in a few days. I have posed some Beanie Baby sized-walruses next to it to give an idea of the size.

Slice me nice!
I received a bunch of pearly silver bracelets, a half-kilo milk, caramel and white chocoate slab and a selection box from Hotel Chocolat (both delicious), vodka and clothes. I treated myself to two nice pairs of ankle boots, both significantly discounted - a plain black pair with a small heel and buttons on the side, and a rather 80's pair with zips and buckles on the side.
Later on, Lucy and I went out to try and be amused in Exeter. We tried to enjoy Exeter's so-called electro night at the Cavern, but just couldn't do it. We arrived at 11 but it already felt like the night was winding down. Not a single record was played that could be even loosely described as electronic. The crowd seemed very staid. We had made an effort with our looks - I wore the pink and purple eyeshadow from Urban Decay palette given to me by
joysilence, and Lucy shimmered in turquoise glitter.
So we left after one drink and went to a new bar on Fore Street called Vivo, which at least had some very comfortable seating and stylish pink and black decor. Then we wandered up to the Firehouse and consumed crisps and wine until it was time to go home. I'm afraid I was rather unwell when I got home, but feel better today after eating some restorative eggy bread.
